When I think back to our family trip to Cancun in June to Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Cancun, I can’t help but smile. We visited from June 8 to June 12, 2024, celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary, but we wanted the whole family to experience it with us. Our little ones, ages 2 and 5, were just as excited as we were to escape to this tropical paradise.

One of the first things we noticed upon arrival was the incredible welcome kit waiting for our kids. It was filled with fun surprises like a stuffed animal turtle and crab, a coloring book, crayons, a yoyo, and more. It was such a thoughtful touch, and our kids were instantly excited about what was to come.
The resort itself was just as beautiful as I imagined, with its breathtaking beach views and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We spent our days relaxing by the pool, lounging on the beach, and exploring all the family-friendly activities Garza Blanca had to offer. The kids had an absolute blast, whether they were splashing around in the pool or playing on the soft, white sand. And the best part? We were able to spend quality time as a family while also having moments of peace and relaxation.
For our anniversary, my husband and I had some time to ourselves, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and the luxury of Garza Blanca’s exceptional service. Whether it was a romantic dinner or just a peaceful walk by the ocean, we felt reconnected and grateful for the experience.
It wasn’t just the resort’s stunning beauty that made this trip so memorable – it was the way they catered to families like ours. The resort has thought of every little detail to make traveling with kids feel effortless. From the kid-friendly amenities to the special touches like the welcome kit, it was clear that Garza Blanca cares about creating unforgettable memories for families.
Our stay was more than just a vacation – it was a celebration of family, love, and the precious memories we’re building together. If you’re looking for a place where both kids and adults can enjoy themselves, Garza Blanca Cancun is the perfect spot. Whether you’re there for a special occasion or just to unwind, it’s the kind of place where everyone feels welcome, and every moment feels like a gift.
Visiting Cancun in June: What to Expect for Your Family Getaway
When we decided to take our family vacation to Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Cancun in June, we knew it was going to be a memorable trip. But what made this vacation even more special was how the Cancun weather in June perfectly aligned with what we were looking for: a mix of sunny days, warm water, and plenty of opportunities to explore and relax. In this post, I’ll share everything you need to know about visiting Cancun in June, including weather conditions, activities, and the best time to visit.
Cancun Weather in June: What to Expect
Average Temperature & Air Temperature
One of the main things we loved about Cancun weather in June is the warm temperatures, which made it perfect for all the outdoor activities we wanted to try. The average temperature hovers around 85°F (29°C), but it can feel warmer, especially during midday when the sunny days make their presence felt. The air temperature during June is typically high, so be sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen, especially with the high humidity levels that can make it feel hotter than it actually is.
Water Temperature & Average Sea Temperature
The water temperature in Cancun during June is a major highlight. The average sea temperature is around 80°F (27°C), which means the water is warm and inviting for swimming, snorkeling, or just cooling off after a day of exploring. We spent plenty of time splashing in the warm water of Playa Delfines, one of Cancun’s beautiful beaches, and it was the perfect way to beat the heat.
Chance of Rain & Tropical Storms
While we were lucky to enjoy good weather during our visit, June does fall within the wet season, so there’s a chance of rain or occasional rain showers. However, most of the rain we experienced came in short bursts, which didn’t interfere with our plans too much. It’s also important to note that June marks the start of hurricane season, so there’s always a slightly higher chance of tropical storms. Luckily, Cancun’s tropical climate usually means that if it does rain, it’s often quick and doesn’t last all day, so it’s still a great time to visit.
Fewer Crowds & Lower Prices
June is considered part of the low season in Cancun, which means you can enjoy fewer crowds at popular attractions like Chichen Itza, Playa Tortugas, and Isla Mujeres. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience Cancun’s charm without the hustle and bustle of the high season. Plus, you can find great deals on accommodations and hotel rates, making it a fantastic time to plan a trip to Cancun on a budget.
Best Things to Do in Cancun in June
Outdoor Activities & Water Activities
When you visit Cancun in June, you’re in for a treat when it comes to outdoor activities and water activities. The warm weather and clear skies mean the conditions are perfect for a snorkeling tour or a scuba diving trip to explore the vibrant coral reefs and discover the incredible marine life in the area. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even go on a boat tour to see the famous whale sharks, which are often spotted around this time of year in the Yucatan Peninsula. Of course, we did not take advantage of any of these things, because you know, it was easier to stay on resort with young kids.
Exploring Archaeological Sites
If you’re interested in history, Cancun is the gateway to some of Mexico’s most famous archaeological sites. During our stay, we thought about taking a trip to Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to marvel at the ancient ruins. The summer months are one of the best times to visit these sites, as the weather is ideal for a day of exploration. Just be sure to bring a wide-brimmed hat and plenty of sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun’s rays.
Relaxing at Playa del Carmen & Playa Caracol
We did not leave the resort this time. However, some people we met at the resort spent some time in Playa del Carmen, a charming coastal town located just a short drive from Cancun. The beautiful beaches here are perfect for spending a relaxing day by the water, and the vibe is much more laid-back compared to the bustling Hotel Zone. One of our favorite spots was Playa Caracol, where the sand is soft, and the calm water is perfect for young kids to splash around in.
Enjoying Cancun’s Hotels & Resorts
For us, the highlight of the trip was staying at Garza Blanca Cancun, an all-inclusive resort that truly made our family vacation unforgettable. The resort offers inclusive resort packages that cater to families, and we enjoyed spending our days lounging by the pool, indulging in delicious meals, and experiencing the luxurious amenities. It’s the kind of place where both parents and kids can have an amazing time – whether you’re enjoying live music, relaxing in the spa, or spending time on Cancun’s beaches. I will write more details about this experience soon, but watch this video of our highlights!
@simplekidshairsty ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️2024 Summer trip was at Garza Blanca Cancun Mexico and here is our review We booked the all inclusive package and stayed for 4 nights in our OCEAN VIEW Suite. (be sure to book an ocean view room) Service at this resort is an 11/10 – both at the pools/beach and restaurants, front desk, room service, ALL OF STAFF WERE ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! 🌮 taste of food at restaurants ranged from average to AMAZING (DAO on the rooftop was out favorite dinner spot and breakfast at the Gormet Hall was delightful everyday)! @Garza Blanca Cancun is definitely a place where you should travel with your family and kids if you are interested in an All Inclusive resort in Cancun Meixco what other questions do you have?! obviously this page is supposed to be about hairstyles, but these kids were in the pool the entire time (like 8 or 9 hours a day), so I just gave up on any cute hairstyles for kids this trip 😂😂😂 thank goodness for pool side orders of pizza, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, fries and fruit for these little mermaids 🧜♀️ (…and incredible poolside cocktails for us🌞🍹) **bonus things for mom 1) our room had a washer and dryer (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)😂 2) bottled drinking water is EVERYWHERE at the resort so you do not have to worry about buying bottles or where the water is coming from (don’t forget to brush your teeth with bottled water too)
When Is the Best Time to Visit Cancun?
If you’re wondering when the best time to visit Cancun is, it really depends on what you’re looking for. The driest month in Cancun is typically early December, when the weather is cooler and the heat index value isn’t as high. However, June is still an excellent time to visit for those looking to enjoy the warm temperatures and a fun vacation with fewer crowds. Be prepared for SEAWEED thought!! Our beach had seaweed, but the resort did clean it up.
Best Weather Conditions for Cancun
During June, you’ll experience great weather conditions for outdoor activities, with plenty of hours of sunshine to enjoy. Although there are some occasional rain showers, the weather overall is ideal for spending time at the beach or exploring the surrounding areas. And, since it’s not the hottest month of the year, the average high temperature of around 88°F (31°C) is manageable for outdoor fun.
Visiting Cancun During Summer Break
For families, June is a great time to visit as it aligns with summer break in the United States. This means that you’ll be able to take advantage of the longest day of the year and longer daylight hours to make the most of your vacation. Whether you’re exploring the area’s archaeological sites, soaking up the sun at the beach, or indulging in the best food Cancun has to offer, you’ll have more than enough time to enjoy everything. Or ride the carousel

If you’re planning a trip to this beautiful destination, I’d highly recommend it!
5 Key Tips for Staying at Garza Blanca Cancun with Young Kids in June
-
Make the Most of the Kids’ Club (But Plan Ahead)
While my kids were too young to join the kids club (it’s for ages 4 and up), I made sure to plan ahead and set aside some relaxing time for myself while they enjoyed other activities. Even if your little ones are under 4, there are still plenty of kid-friendly amenities at the resort that will keep them entertained. I found that planning our days around those activities (like nature walks and crafts) allowed me to sneak in some relaxation, knowing they were in safe hands. -
Bribe with the Carousel – It’s a Life Saver!
If you’re a mom who’s tried to get through a meal with young kids, you know the struggle (haha!). Garza Blanca’s carousel became my secret weapon. After a long day in the sun or post-dinner meltdowns, we’d bribe our kids with a carousel ride to calm them down and get them excited for the evening. The carousel was such a fun highlight of our stay, and honestly, it made dinner time (even the fussy ones!) much more enjoyable. Pro mom tip: If you know, you know! -
Buffet Breakfast is a Game Changer
One thing I loved about staying at Garza Blanca was the buffet-style breakfast. It’s such a time-saver for families with young kids! We didn’t have to wait around for a sit-down meal, and there was plenty of variety to keep everyone happy. From fresh fruit to pancakes, eggs, and even traditional Mexican dishes, the kids could pick exactly what they wanted. Plus, it was a delicious and stress-free start to the day! -
Incredible Entertainment and Amazing Staff
Garza Blanca’s staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable stay. The kids loved the interactive entertainment during meals, and I was grateful for the constant attention they gave to our family. We made sure to show our appreciation with extra tips because the staff truly made us feel like part of the Garza Blanca family. Their energy and enthusiasm were top-notch and made all the difference in our experience. -
Enjoy the Resort’s Family-Friendly Amenities
Even though we didn’t leave the resort at all, there was so much to do! Between the pools, the beach, and all the other family-friendly activities, we had everything we needed to keep the kids entertained and engaged. Whether it was splashing around in the warm water, building sandcastles, or taking in the beautiful views, I never felt like we needed to leave the resort to have a great time. Playa Tortugas and Playa Caracol were just steps away from our suite, making it easy to spend hours enjoying the beautiful beaches without ever getting bored.
In the end, traveling with young kids can feel like a lot of work, but when you’re at Garza Blanca Cancun, it’s easy to relax and enjoy every minute. With the perfect family vacation package, you can spend your time doing what matters most: making memories and enjoying each other’s company!
